The goal of this project is to locate and assess stormwater control measures such as dry detention basins across the City of Greenville. This project will provide needed information about stormwater utilities to the City of Greenville and represents the initial steps that will allow for water quality improvement and flood impact reductions, particularly in underserved communities of Greenville.

Assessing a DDB.

The ECU WaterCorps will offer assistance with identifying and assessing these stormwater control measures. In addition, ECU WaterCorps has been tasked with the deployment and maintenance of sensor installments at several stormwater control basins. This project will consist of weekly field events beginning in June 2023 and ending in August 2023. Students that work on this project will gain experience identifying stormwater management infrastructure and functionality and assist the City of Greenville with understanding about sites that may present risks to water quality and flooding.
