Who: We welcome all those within and outside of ECU who collaborate with the WRC in any capacity to participate in the Summit. This includes researchers, students, community groups, government organizations, and more to participate!
Why: The Stakeholders Summit will bring together a diverse group of people and organizations working with the WRC to address water issues in eastern NC. The Summit will allow you to:
- learn about and discuss water challenges in communities across eastern NC,
- share experiences, knowledge, research, and approaches that reflect your perspective,
- build your capacity by accessing resources, programs, and tools you can leverage,
- network and build partnerships to amplify your work by connecting with others!
The Summit will help us all work more collaboratively together as we pursue a resilient and sustainable future for all people in our communities in eastern NC and around the world!
Planned activities at the Summit will include:
- networking activities that will help you identify potential partners to amplify your work and create new opportunities;
- discussions and a poster session held in conjunction with ECU’s Research & Achievement Creativity Award Week to give you the opportunity to share your work while you learn about the work of other organizations and research happening at ECU;
- ideation sessions to define key issues and solutions that can be sought collaboratively;
- training sessions on how to write grant proposals and how to use the NC Community Information Portal;
- tours and demonstrations of ECU resources, including the WRC analysis lab, sensor network infrastructure, geophysical imaging tools, and virtual reality equipment;
The unique networking session will offer direct contact to researchers, students, community groups, businesses, and water professionals to discuss what we know and what we still need to learn to address water concerns and needs collectively as community partners.
