Pirates on Water is the student branch of the Water Resources Center. Our members plan awesome events to learn more about issues and work with community partners to address them. Our members decide what activities to undertake each year, but they might include:
- The Tar River Clean Up is an event we organize with other ECU and community groups to remove trash as we kayak down the river!
- Learn about water issues by hosting movies on the giant Pirate Vision screen outside of the Main Student Center
- Invite inspiring speakers to share their lived experiences and perspectives on the role of water in people’s lives in NC and around the world
- Take field trips to go see water issues first hand and have a lot of fun at the same time!
All Pirates on Water members can also take advantage of all the opportunities available from the Water Resources Center, ranging from paid internships in the WaterCorps to help you develop workforces skills while solving community problems to enabling your own vision for a project through funding from a Water Scholars grant.
