ECU Students take a hands-on approach to learning about water issues in Greenville this spring!
Interested in learning about water challenges faced by communities?
Join Dr. O’Driscoll in GEOL3500 to take a hands-on approach to learning about how water moves in the environment, the effects of humans on the hydrologic cycle, and factors that affect water quality in our environment. Students will take part in hands-on activities in Greenville’s own Town Creek watershed to understand the cutting edge approaches and tools used to study water in the environment, investigate sources of contamination and remediation strategies, and interpret hydrological and water quality data.
Students will take part in activities at field sites in the Greenville area, such as near Town Commons. The course is part of the TEAMS-UR project funded by the National Science Foundation, so will take a team-based research approach to enhance your learning.
If you are interested in water resources and like being outside, this class is for you!
